Semi- Independent Housing Support
We currently offer modern accommodation in South East London and in the Greater London area. We provide young people with shared living experiences, and also to prepare them for independent living.
Upwards Support will ensure that all young people referred to us receive a comprehensive:
- Review/Monthly report
- Keywork sessions
- Independent living skills training programme
- Access to education and training
- Help with budgeting, cookery, food shopping, Health and safety, personal care and hygiene & managing savings and bank accounts
- Practical and general household maintenance, Self-motivation, Identify and encourage the use of local facilities, Transportation to appointments
- 1-1 support for certain activities, Support with legal issues, Support with claiming benefits & Moving on support
- Support for young offenders with low level offences, coaching and mentoring for behavioural issues,
- 1-1 mentors for residents in semi-independent living
- Assist young person positive self-image and confidence
- Improve family relationships, social support network as well as staying safe.
For those young people that require additional support due to challenging behaviour and gang affiliation we offer 24 hour support, and 1:1 packages of care. This type of package will be offered following the initial assessment alongside an extensive risk assessment this service is individually tailored to meet the needs of each young person.
Ensuring our young people are safe.
We provide a risk assessment for young people that go missing from care to ensure that our young people are kept safe. We consistently track the progress of our young people and send weekly and monthly reports to the local authorities. We ensure that the care leavers placed in our accommodation are risk managed. We follow a clear framework to verify that the placing of our young people together does not increase their vulnerabilities.
